AR211-F1 — Landlord’s Notice to Tenant - Termination of a Periodic Tenancy

Alberta landlord’s notice ending a periodic (week-to-week, month-to-month or year-to-year) tenancy for a reason the regulation allows.

How to fill it in

The form above takes you through these steps, one at a time.

  1. To the tenant

  2. The rental premises

Identify the premises the notice is about.

  3. The tenancy

How often rent is paid sets the notice period (Residential Tenancies Act, ss. 7-9).

  4. Reason for ending the tenancy

A landlord’s notice ending a periodic tenancy has no effect unless it is for a reason the regulation sets out or a reason in section 11 or 12 of the Residential Tenancies Act (s. 6(1)). A notice for a condominium conversion has its own, longer notice period (s. 12(2)), and one served late does not take effect at a later date instead (s. 10(3)).

  5. Termination date

  6. Date and signature

Signed by the landlord or landlord’s agent.
