- Check your deadline to apply.5 days for a 10 Day Notice, 10 days for a cause notice, the date printed on other notices, otherwise within 2 years after the tenancy ends.
- Confirm the claim is within the $35,000 limit.Don't split a claim to stay under it.
- Try to resolve it in writing first, and keep a record.
- Choose the right form.Tenants: RTB-12T-CT or RTB-12T-PT. Landlords: RTB-12L-CT or RTB-12L-PT. Add the RTB-37 for money claims and the RTB-26 for extra parties.
- Attach a detailed calculation of any money claim and a copy of any notice.
