What's Inside
The first 5 of 17 steps
- Good faith and permits: issued permits covering the work that needs vacancy, strata approval if a bylaw requires it, and contracts, quotes or a construction schedule.
- Requires vacancy: a contractor's or engineer's written scope naming the tasks that need the unit empty and for how long; hazard reports such as an asbestos survey.
- Prolong or sustain: inspection or condition reports, engineering assessments, code deficiencies, photos of current conditions.
- Only reasonable way: the vacancy period in days, why staging unit by unit will not work, and any discussion with the tenant about a temporary move.
- If your job is in Guideline 2B's "Unlikely" column, such as a re-pipe or roof replacement, explain what makes your building different.
