Alberta 14-Day Notice: Tenant Checklist

1. Find the termination dateAt least 14 clear days after service (RTA s.29(1)).
2. Find the reasonUnpaid rent, or another substantial breach (s.1(1)(p); s.21).
3. Check the contentsWritten, signed, rent due and additional rent shown separately, reasons, date (s.29(2)-(3)).
4. Add up all rent due as of the day you payInclude rent that has come due since the notice.
5. Pay before the termination dateThe notice then has no effect (s.29(4)(a)).
