How to Pay Rent on Tenon10
Your complete guide to every payment method available
Tenon10 gives you multiple ways to pay your rent. Some methods are completely free, while others may carry a processing fee that varies based on the method and your landlord's configuration. Here's everything you need to know.
Free Methods
Interac e-Transfer & Cash — no fees, ever.
Paid Methods
Credit card & Bank transfer — fee varies, waivable by landlord.
Note: Your landlord or property manager decides which payment methods are available for your lease. You'll only see the methods they have enabled on the payment screen.
Important: Each payment method is a complete, independent workflow. You only need to use one method per payment. For example, if you pay by credit card or bank transfer, you do not also need to send an Interac e-Transfer — your payment is fully processed through whichever method you choose.
Free Payment Methods
Interac e-Transfer
DIY transfer • Free • Requires landlord confirmation
- Send the Interac e-Transfer directly through your bank to your landlord's email (your landlord will provide this).
- Once the transfer is sent, log in to Tenon10 and go to Payments.
- Select Interac e-Transfer as your payment method.
- Enter the amount you transferred and submit the payment record.
- Your landlord will confirm receipt of the transfer from their end in the app.
- Once confirmed, your payment is recorded and both parties get a confirmation.
Note: Interac e-Transfer payments stay in "Pending" status until your landlord confirms receipt. The transfer itself is done outside of Tenon10 through your own bank.
Cash Payment
In person • Free • Requires landlord confirmation
- Log in to Tenon10 and go to Payments.
- Select Cash as your payment method.
- Enter the amount and submit the payment request.
- Hand the cash to your landlord in person.
- Your landlord will confirm receipt in the app, which updates your payment record.
- Both you and your landlord get a confirmation — creating a clear paper trail.
Note: Cash payments stay in "Pending" status until your landlord confirms receipt in the app.
Paid Payment Methods
These methods may carry a processing fee that varies based on the payment method and your landlord's configuration. If no fee shows up when you select the payment method, it means your landlord or property manager has waived it for you.

Autopay — Set It and Forget It
Don't want to remember to pay each month? Set up Autopay and Tenon10 will automatically process your rent payment when it's due — using the payment method you choose.
How to set up Autopay:
- Go to your Wallet (under Payments in your dashboard).
- Make sure you have at least one saved payment method (credit card or bank account).
- Navigate to the Autopay tab.
- Toggle Enable Autopay on.
- Select which saved payment method to use for automatic payments.
- Click Save — you're all set! Tenon10 will automatically pay your rent when invoices are generated.
Good to know: Autopay works with credit/debit cards and bank transfers. You can turn it off or change the payment method at any time from your Wallet. The same fee rules apply — if your landlord has waived fees, autopay will also be fee-free.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if the processing fee is waived?
If no fee appears when you select credit card or bank transfer as your payment method, your landlord or property manager has already waived it for you. There's nothing extra you need to do.
What happens if a payment fails?
You'll be notified immediately. For card payments, double-check your card details and try again. For bank transfers, ensure you have sufficient funds — the debit will be retried or you can submit a new payment.
Can I make a partial payment?
Only if your landlord has enabled partial payments. If allowed, you can enter any amount and the remaining balance will stay on your account for a future payment. If partial payments are not enabled, you'll need to pay the full invoice amount.
Where can I find my payment receipts?
All receipts are saved automatically in your lease documents. You can also view your full payment history under Payments in your dashboard.
Why is the bank transfer limit $3,000?
This is a temporary per-transaction limit while we work with our banking partner. We're actively working to raise it to $10,000. For amounts over $3,000, you can make multiple transfers or use Interac e-Transfer which has no Tenon10-imposed limit.
